WMES PROFILEWalker-Miller Energy Services, LLC (WMES) was founded by Carla Walker-Miller, its president, in 2000. Armed with an engineering degree from Tennessee State University, Ms. Walker-Miller began an energy industry career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation. For the next 19 years, she held positions with Westinghouse and ABB Inc. in Atlanta, Detroit and Raleigh (North Carolina). WMES has offices in Detroit and Columbus, Ohio. Strategic partners include Elster Electricity Meters, Homewood Products, Specialty Transformers, Homewood Products, American Pipe and Supply and other traditional and renewable/sustainable energy suppliers. As part of our commitment to the community, 10% of WMES after-tax profits are re-invested in Detroit non-profit projects. In 2007, Walker-Miller Energy Services was named to the inaugural Inc. 5000 list of the United States' fastest-growing companies. Despite a regional economic downturn, WMES maintained a three-year revenue growth rate of 48.7% and 2006 revenues of $13.5 million. |
